so we made it through january. that’s pretty exciting. i can’t remember so many insanely huge things happening in that short of a timespan, but here we are. on to february.
speaking of february, it’s valentine’s day soon. i really dislike this fake holiday. i like to give gifts. year round. like random thinking bout you stuff. does that make me weird? maybe valentine’s day is for people in new relationships. for those of us who have been together for a while, a good year-into-a-pandemic-valentine’s-day-gift might be for you to leave the fucking house for a few days. seriously, you have been up your significant other’s ass for over a year. think about someone else for a change and get the hell out. that’s a great gift. where will you go? no clue, doesn’t matter. sleep in the car. gift the gift of alone time this year. you’re welcome.
anyways. being back at techcrunch has been good. i’ve been talking to our paid subscribers about what they like or don’t like and it’s been a treat to hear their thoughts. maybe because i’ve been an absolute recluse for the past 5 months, but maybe not. they care about techcrunch as much as i do, and that’s nice. we’re announcing some stuff soon which i’m excited about. working on projects again is fun.
what’s not so fun is realizing that i’ve gained way too much weight over the past year. i got a nutritionist and i’ve been toying around with an app called noom. i found noom helpful until i got dumped into a group with like 30 other people trying to eat healthier. it’s not that i don’t like people, it’s just that i don’t give a fuck what sally ate on her cheat day. maybe group settings work for some on this, but not me. i cancelled my subscription. nice app to track your meals, but just not for me.
have a great weekend, and never forget that fox news is literally the devil. Exhibit A:
